CARBOHYDRATES ARE HEALTHY, RIGHT?
As you might have guessed, I’m in the camp that believes that carbohydrates are an important part of a healthy diet. And this is especially true if we’re talking about fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains. Last time I checked, these sources were full of the good stuff, providing plenty of vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients (special plant chemicals that fight disease), and fiber. In other words, these foods pack a serious nutritional punch. And let’s not forget that they’ve been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, hypertension, and even some cancers. Armed with this information, you should feel absolutely no need to severely restrict or eliminate these foods from your diet.
